Tenor trombone is an easy instrument for beginning band. The trombone is played with the bell on the left side of the slide. The right hand holds the slide. The left hand holds the bell portion. The tenor trombone is the standard student choice. Step-up trombones have a larger bore slide than the student model and usually includes a “F” attachment with a trigger or a valve for the left hand. The F-Attachment allows more alternate slide positions for more difficult pieces. A trombone with an ‘F’ attachment is not typically for beginners. A mouthpiece and case are included.
