A popular woodwind instrument, flutes are small and easy to carry which makes it perfect for beginning band. The player creates sound by blowing across the tone hole of the mouthpipe. Hold the flute out to the right side of the player, parallel to the ground to play. The beginner flute is a soprano flute. Student Flutes are made with various options. Plateau Style is a closed hole key design. French Style is an open hole key design. Range to low C is the standard option, however, can be ordered with range to low B (extended range; low B key). Flute purchase includes a flute cleaning rod and case.
